Youth Sailing

You can’t deny it – sailing is a great, fun, interactive, educational way to get out in the outdoors and on the water! Our range of youth courses & sessions will take a young person from their first experience on the water to building their confidence until they are ready to take part in the Club sessions & higher level of maybe racing!

We follow the Royal Yachting Association’s (RYA) youth sailing scheme which encourages youth sailors to develop their skills in a methodical and logical manner. Our youth courses are very different to our Adult sailing courses, they are full to bursting with games and fun exercises led by a fully experienced and qualified RYA Instructor who is overseen by an RYA Senior instructor.

Once the young sailor is hooked then they can, with our support, join the number of different sessions that we offer during the year and also if they wish be a part of the Youth and Juniors section of Midland Sailing Club where they can start their racing career and hopefully begin to rack up their medals.

As an RYA OnBoard registered club we provide a safe and fun environment for young people to take their next steps into this enjoyable sport.

Improver Sessions

If you just need some tips and guidance to improve your Sailing and start getting into fun racing. If you want to be part of a group session with like minded people then sign up to our improver session, the cost is £10 for members (£20 for Non members), Please note this is not for beginners, you must be able to get and launch the equipment you need for the session (with guidance from the member of staff).
