In summer 2019 we funded by Birmingham City Council to run a new project, introducing Syrian Refugees who are part of the government’s Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Programme to sailing. 25 adults and children took part in the activity sessions, enjoying the thrill of being out on the water and beautiful setting of Edgbaston Reservoir. For those not quite ready to try dinghy sailing, there was the option of riding in the safety boat.
We plan to run a follow-on Activity Day for Syrian Families as soon as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
