Free Watersports Activities at Edgbaston Reservoir

Would you like to try Sailing, windsurfing or Paddle-boarding?

Sail Birmingham is running free sessions for adults with a disability, mental health condition and older people (over 55), no previous experience is required.

Disability Access Sailing Dinghies make sailing easy, fun and safe. They are suitable for people with a wide range of physical or learning disabilities. You can either go out in a boat on your own, or with a family member or carer. Other boats are also available for more able-bodied participants. But they all give you the same thrill of being out on the water.

Paddle-boarding requires more physical mobility but you can sit, kneel or stand on Paddle-boards and it’s very quick to learn how to do it.

Sailing and Paddle-boarding sessions can be arranged for individuals or small groups from Tuesdays to Fridays at a time that suits you.

Follow on sessions can then be arranged and you can learn more techniques at your own pace.

Please call, text or e-mail Phil Reeves (Sail Birmingham Manager) if you’d like to find out more, book a session or just come down and have a look.

Nowka Bais Bangladeshi Boat Race

We were pleased to be one of the principle supporters of the Nowka Bais Bangladeshi Boat Race which is held annually at Midland Sailing Club. We run free sailing taster sessions for children and adults throughout the day, which are always popular. The event was attended by over 10,000 people mainly from the Bangladeshi community, and was a great opportunity to breakdown some of the barriers around sailing and widen access to the sport.
